Concrete polymer screeds and repairs

Polymer Screed is a self-bonding product which provides high performance at reduced thicknesses compared to traditional concrete. It is largely used as a flooring underlay and infill screed and is particularly good for achieving falls to drainage systems or leveling falls. Shrinkage and cracking is reduced, permeability is minimised and strength is improved as well as faster curing times for subsequent floor finishes.

Concrete is the most versatile material used for the construction of infrastructure today and in the future, however, over time environmental conditions can cause concrete to deteriorate resulting in spalling, cracking and delaminating concrete.

The methods available for repairing concrete may be divided into the following groups:

• Hand applied mortars

• Sprayed concrete and mortar

• Re-casting with concrete

• Flowable grouts and concrete

• Corrosion inhibitors
